1. Who we are
EarningsWatcher, 60 rue François 1er, 75008 Paris, France, operates earnings-watcher.com and app.earnings-watcher.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use those sites, why we collect it, and what rights you have. For data-protection purposes we are the controller of that data.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — the email address you register or check out with, your username or display name, your password (stored in hashed form), and any profile text you choose to add.
- Subscription details — your plan and its status. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor; we never receive or store your full card number.
- Content you create — watchlists, planner entries, paper trades, journal notes, scanner alerts, and who you follow on the platform.
- Messages you send us — email, support requests, and chat messages sent through the chat widget on our site.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, referring page, approximate location, browser and device type, and similar analytics data.
- Server logs — requests to our API, including IP address and timestamp, kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Approximate location — some pages determine your rough location to localise content. This is done by sending your IP address to a third-party lookup service, or, only if you grant permission, by using your browser's location feature.
Information from third parties
- Payment status from our payment processor, so we can grant or end access.
- Referral information where you arrive through an affiliate partner link.
- Your Discord username, if you choose to link your Discord account to receive member roles.
3. How and why we use it
We use personal data to provide and operate the service, to take payment and manage subscriptions, to send you the emails you have asked for, to answer support requests, to measure and improve how the site performs, to detect and prevent abuse and fraud, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the service you subscribe to), consent (marketing emails, non-essential cookies and analytics, browser location — each withdrawable at any time), legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, understanding aggregate usage, and preventing abuse), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, to remember preferences, to record which affiliate partner referred you so that partner can be credited, and to measure traffic through analytics. Advertising and analytics tags on our marketing pages may set their own cookies. You can control or delete cookies in your browser; strictly necessary cookies are required for sign-in to work.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal data. We share it with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes we set:
- Stripe — payments and subscription billing.
- Brevo — email delivery, mailing lists, and the on-site chat widget.
- Google — Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement, Firebase Hosting, and Google Fonts (which receives your IP address when a font is loaded).
- Google Cloud — the servers and databases that run our application and API.
- IP geolocation providers — BigDataCloud and ipwho.is, which receive an IP address in order to return an approximate location.
- Discord — if you link your Discord account for member roles.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the business.
Note that content you post in the members' community, and trades you publish on the platform, are visible to other members.
6. International transfers
Some of the providers above process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on the transfer mechanisms those providers make available, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
7. How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your account exists, and for a period afterwards to handle disputes and meet accounting obligations. Billing records are kept for the period required by tax law. Analytics data is retained according to the settings in our analytics tools. In practice: account data while your account is open and for 12 months after you close it; billing and accounting records for 10 years, as French accounting law requires; server logs for 12 months; analytics data for 14 months. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. Marketing emails can be stopped using the unsubscribe link in any message.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@earnings-watcher.com. If you are in the EU and are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your national data-protection authority; in France this is the CNIL (cnil.fr).
9. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The service is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Questions or requests: support@earnings-watcher.com. See also our Terms of Service and Risk Disclosure.
